The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra invites you to step into a world of magic and music with our woodwind quintet in Once Upon a Song! Families will enjoy familiar favorites like Beauty and the Beast, Under the Sea, We Don’t Talk About Bruno, and A Whole New World, along with timeless classics like Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Morning Mood from Peer Gynt. On April 8th2024, darkness struck Texas at 1:34pm, the moon blocking 100% of sunlight during 4-minutes and 23-seconds of Totality. Eclipse Outlaw Chase featuresaward-winning photographer Noah David Wetzel and his 250-hour project to capture a singular image: a western outlaw chase scene,complete with five horseback riders equipped with pistols and rifles riding full-gallop beneath the Total Solar Eclipse –the first to grace Texas' Hill Country since July 29th1878. An intimate portrait of an artist driven by vision,Eclipse Outlaw Chase showcases Wetzel’s journey to create the most powerful and surreal image of the Total Solar Eclipse –an ode to a bygone era of outlaws, cowboys, and the settling of the West. Within was born a world-class adventure: from conceptualizing the final idea, finding five committed horseback riders in Texas, to multiple days of testing, until the final moment of Totality that allowed for just three single-frame attempts. Witness this incredible journey to create art; a story of perseverance filled with humor and suspense, all to capture an ethereal moment -the last Total Solar Eclipse in America until 2044. The Little Moon Travelers blend folk, old time and roots Americana influences to produce a sound that harkens to times past. The band took shape in a local hideaway called Little Moon Trail in the hills of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. During the covid lockdown, these musicians gathered around the fire pit with their instruments. These unrehearsed get-togethers helped them and many others ward off the restlessness we all felt. The informal strumming sessions invited those listening to put aside their worries and connect more freely with each other in the present moment. They are thrilled to bring to the world their brand of live roots music.

It’s what happens when 3 Steamboat music veterans get together and create vocal harmonies so beautifully nuanced and musically compelling you won’t want to miss them perform.
